Let's explore the types of toys that are ideal for one-year-olds, keeping in mind their attention span and developmental needs.

Sensory Toys - One-year-olds are highly sensory beings, and toys that engage their senses can be immensely beneficial. Look for toys that offer different textures, colors, and sounds. Soft plush toys, textured balls, and musical instruments like rattles or shakers can help stimulate their tactile and auditory senses. Just make sure that the toys you are choosing aren't overstimulating. Toys that have too many moving parts, flashing lights, and buttons that produce all sorts of recorded noises can be overwhelming and even detrimental to your child's attention span.
Cause-and-Effect Toys - At this age, children begin to understand cause and effect relationships. Toys that allow them to open and close things, manipulate levers, or stack blocks can provide endless entertainment.
